Help Me Celebrate Cancer Survivors!
Lately, I’ve been thinking about the amount of attention and research that has gone in breast cancer awareness and scientific cures. Yet there are several forms of cancer that are not commonly mentioned. This year I want to celebrate survivors of all cancers as we celebrate men and women who are survivors of breast cancer. Perhaps my vision is expanded because of the recent experience of supporting my mother through her cancer journey. It is an experience that has increased my compassion and given me more sensitivity to all persons who suffer with illness.
While preparing for another empowering podcast series, I thought, I want to pitch a larger tent and invite others into the conversation. Therefore, I invite you to join me this month on the Harmonize Your Life Podcast and be inspired by women who have survived different types of cancer. Our discussions begin with an inspiring conversation with Tonya Phillips from the American Cancer Society. Tonya shares candidly about the ways in which cancer has impacted her life and educates us with facts and statistics about the leading forms of cancer. You will be educated on general risk factors, information about cancer screenings, the impact of health inequities and calls to action that can lead to prevention and hope as these women share their battles and victories as cancer survivors.
I believe we can all say that our life has been touched by cancer, either as a cancer patient, a friend or family member. I’m also celebrating the co-survivors, caregivers, and family members who support cancer patients. You are the real MVP’s!
Thanks for celebrating,
Dr. Toni
